Buzz Williams’ Marquette Golden Eagles finished the regular season 18-13 and squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble.  Big East Tournament wins over Providence and West Virginia earned Marquette the No. 11 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament.

Led by the backcourt of Jimmy Butler and Darius Johnson-Odom, the Golden Eagles knocked off No. 6 seed Xavier before upsetting No. 3 seed Syracuse to advance to the Sweet 16.  Butler would go on to become the 30th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
